Dr. McKinlay graduated from Villanova University summa cum laude earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Following his internship in Internal Medicine at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, he attended the Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute in Pensacola, Florida. He then served as a Naval Flight Surgeon with VMA-223, a USMC Harrier Squadron in North Carolina for four years prior to starting his residency training in Dermatology at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego. Dr. McKinlay is a board-certified dermatologist and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has published extensively in dermatology peer-reviewed journals and has spoken on various topics at international dermatology meetings. Immediately prior to entering into private practice in Honolulu, Dr. McKinlay served as the Chief of the Dermatology Department at Naval Medical Clinic, Pearl Harbor. Dr. McKinlay has been practicing dermatology in his downtown Honolulu office for over 10 years. He serves as a faculty member for the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine teaching medical students and residents. |
